be alert to the rules of 3.

what you give, will return to you.
that lesson, you have to learn.
you only earn what you deserve.

Got my hands on a non-physical copy (ahem) of Portishead's album, Third, their latest offering, 11 years late. They've been trying to break away from the genre 'trip-hop', and while listening to this, I kind of feel like they are taking the listeners on a gag trip- Haha, suckers are all gonna lap this up- but it is captivating, just not in your usual melodic pop anthems manner. Hell, sometimes there ain't no freaking melody, an example being, 'Silence' which ends abruptly. I thought I got a crap version. Beth Gibbons is still magic. People who get the enchantment behind Blonde Redhead will understand what I'm trying to say- it's sometimes so bad ('Missile'), but you can't stop listening anyways, because it's just that good.

No, hip-hop does not apply, sorry kids.

I've been at home.. Um, I'm not sure what I'm doing 80% of the time, but sometimes I play Oblivion (I'm now the Master of the Fighters Guild and Arch-mage of the Mage Guild BWAHAHA. Did I mention my character is a fighter, a knight, NOT a spell-caster?) I play marginally less now, because the PS3 is now in my brother's room. He is capable of gaming non-stop. It's quite funny to see him glued to the tv.

Approximately one month till the Europe trip! I'm psyched, especially for Prague, can't wait to take photos of the place with my Vivitar hahahah. Spoke to Maria (friend from UNSW lab) who's returning to Germany soon, a pity that her city is too far from Berlin and Dresden, both of which I will also be stopping by. Also 'planning' a trip with Lix to Japan next June/Julyish, it better not fall through!!! :P

In other news, I'm really bothered about something. But never mind. I would talk about it, but I don't have the words. All right, actually I do, but I have a sneaking suspicion that if I do just talk about it, I will be ranting my head off, and I'm just tired of having to screw it back on again.

d'ohh

Went to Lix's yesterday to get my passport photo taken- to discover I can't change my passport to the biometric one because the expiry is too far away (but too short for it to remain valid for my return from Mel-Sg). Fuck!? Fuck you, ICA! I am going to go down personally and give you a piece of my mind tell you why I need a new passport.

We met up at Jurong Point aka bowels of Singapore... I've never been to Jurong Point until yesterday, and while walking around, this mat (stereotypical malay male in skin tight jeans, t-shirt, trucker hat, ugly sling bag, unwashed hair) come up from beside us and went:

"Excuse me, son of a bitch....*muttermutter*"

WTF?

And then he gave us the finger and continued muttering to himself. LOL.

Seriously, you are just not giving the Malay community a good name. You can't blame me for being racist if you repeatedly give me bad impressions!

Insane mat aside, I don't get it, WHY CAN'T I CHANGE IT!~? I even have to pay 70 bucks for that damn biometric crap, but because I haven't reached the 10 year mark for this passport (issued in 2001, therefore I have to extend it, what is wrong with these people..).. Do I have to beg? PLEASE, PLEASE TAKE MY MONEY! Jerks.

Okay, I just gave ICA a call- looks like I have to go down personally in the end. Oh the joys of being Singaporean :|

Late night doodling session with Sasha. What happens is that I draw a random shape and he fills it in to make it something. This is what I first drew:

His ode to Le petit prince:

ironia

Different city, same crap. Ironically, it was easier to find places in Sydney, you just gotta set up the cable but that was not something we could do then.

(On a separate note, no one else will love me as much as you did.)

lix's exhibit and giraffe bar

I came home to find my digital camera all repaired and on my bed, so I took a shot of what I wore today before I went to change out of it:

Oversized 'bf' shirt (Victoria's Secret)
Layered ruffle skirt (ebase)
Stockings (online spree!)
Flats (Topshop)
Bag (Chanel)

Necklace (voleurdebijoux.etsy.com)

Today was Lix's exhibition! I am so happy for you and proud of you, Lix!!! *hugs* I love love love that #9 piece (the horizontal one..) It's my favorite in the whole damn exhibit- I found nothing else had that kind of color intensity. I hope someone buys it cause I know I would if I could! :) Went to PS before the exhibit and did some shopping at Dorothy Perkins plus met up with Ade for dinner at MOS Burger. Ebi Rice Burger is yummy and now I feel like eating it again :3 Headed for some drinks after the viewing at Giraffe Restaurant and Bar (Istana Park); great chill-out location, breezy and the music was loud enough to block out the noise from the road and yet not noisy enough to drown out your friend's voice!

Ade paid for this round, so I owe her one (haha excuses to go out drinking again). Tried the Beefeater brand of gin for my gin tonic- it tasted kind of flat, so Gordon's and Tanqueray ftw! The tequila sunrise was rather cough-syrupy, but on the whole, I think this place has a lot of potential, you just have to pick the right spirits they add and keep to the non-pretentious mixes.

Right, my inner nasal cavity hurts when i inhale, almost like the part of my brains behind my nose hurts. I've been having a lot of problems with my stupid upper respirator system, what with it being super sensitive and itchy and sneezy and runny and painful. I need to go to the doctor :( And pay for uni tuition, and get a passport photo, and the biometric passport, and all sorts of student visa shit (medical check-up, lalala), plane ticket, a flat..... GUH. TOO MUCH TO DO! Agh.

rêves

As much as I like sleeping, I really, intensely dislike the part where you have to lie in bed and wait to pass out. It's the time where I feel the most alone. Not lonely; alone.

I think that's how dying feels like. Every minute and second, we die a little, but when I have to wait to be led into the land of the dead-living, it is as if I am as helpless as a prisoner on the death row and it's execution hour every night and I'm anticipating the ax's descent.

I do this every day, but that doesn't take the edge off the sensation. I'm not afraid to die, but I don't really enjoy waiting for it to come knocking.

bitchery!

Started the day with swinging by the lab; I doubt my help is actually seriously needed so I don't have the motivation to keep going, and in any case, today was my last visit.

I am going to digress and talk about this silly little SG site I visited called Stomp... (Being an opinionated cat, I am allowed to say whatever I please.) Just two nights ago, I think? Or was it yesterday? Whichever-- one bit of Stomp has readers submitting pictures of happenings in SG, say, they spot someone littering and whip out their nifty camera phones to snap pictures, or of inconsiderate people sleeping on the bus. One particular post showed two girls on the train and some woman carrying a 'crying' kid. Who doesn't seem to be crying.

I actually don't see what's the big deal with them not giving up the seats... Why? Because I wouldn't give it up either! Leave your child at home! Take a cab! GTFO. People give up their seats because of sheer conscience or out of the kindness of the heart and perhaps these two people are just 1) zoning out and didn't so much as notice (this happens to me personally, a lot) OR 2) hate children (like me! omg! i will never give up a seat to a pregnant woman or someone carrying a child, because I am EVIL like that HA HA.) OR 3) simply don't care! OR 4) MAYBE THEY NEED THE SEAT TOO CAUSE THEIR HEELS ARE KILLING THEM (SCORE).

That makes me wonder, do other countries also have sites like this to document "ugly behavior", or is it a primarily SG thing? I think the act of taking such sneaky photos of completely random strangers and then posting them up for some sort of a flame cup is a completely ugly thing to do in itself and breeds rude comments.

Back to my boring day: I went to the library! Picked up some titles by Nikolai Gogol, Franz Kafka and Yukio Mishima, as well as some random chicklit crap by authors I can't even be bothered to remember. I will write about those some time. I even had some Tako Pachi, which was yum, and then I somehow wandered into the supermarket and randomly bought a bag of tidbits (Rollercoaster!) and a small bottle of fruit & vegetable juice. Thinking back on it, that was kind of a weird series of things to be eating in succession.

...+ I forgot to buy my multi-socket adapter. Again. Dammit.

New wardrobe

I've been in the process of collecting new clothing pieces to bring over to AU with focus on understated, black and layering friendly button down blouses with colourful tank tops, cardigans, opaque stockings (in black, navy, dark fuschia, maroon, turkish blue, dark purple and dark green). I'm still looking for full volume knee-length circle skirts and dresses, but I haven't had any luck! Another pair or two of dark-wash jeans won't hurt anyone either! I'd probably bring around 10 tees for days I don't want to bother dressing up. At least I have found a suitable bookbag though, it's huge! I can put my dog in it :

Fraulein Tote (USD96 from moop.etsy.com)

I've also dedicated some hours recently into knitting myself a scarf while watching old House MD episodes:

Scarf (yarn and needles from spotlight)

The holidays also spell a lot of bumming around since I am not working:

Playstation 3 set-up, ha ha.

I've not been using the wheel though.. Oops. Up to playing Folklore (thanks Jason!) and Elder Scrolls IV, but since we all know I have concentration issues, I don't even game that much. And it gives me a headache after 2 hours.

uno

Cheers and triple thanks to Evans who coded this layout for me- this first entry is dedicated to him! Don't forget to claim your coffee from me, ha ha. I didn't think he would do it, but he actually did! Aww. I'll post more later.
