Dinner and drinks last night with ze MB0501 gang (sans Alaric who.... was MIA): LQ, Swing, Jason, Ben, Evans and Daniel @ New York, New York and then Loof (I love that place hahaahhaha). It's kind of awful at NYNY, the service is slow and the food takes a long time to get there and, well, there's still nothing to scream about Western food in general :| When we meet again, let's go for hawker food.
We took looooads and looooads of pix but they are not with me! BEN, SWING, EVANS, UPLOAD THE PICS TO YOUSENDIT.COM ASAP :P
Anyways, I will miss you guys! Swing, come down to Melb to find me okay, and see ya there, LQ! Haha.
Was out today again with ze famlee for dinner at The Manhattan Fish Market @ Plaza Singapura. Why am I always going to some US-named place!!! -_- It's kind of similar to Fish & Co for the fish and chips, but bigger in portion and CHEAPER! If you get their sticker on your credit card (you can just get the stickers free at the cashier), you get 10% off!! Woohoo! So it's even cheaper-er than Fish & Co! The seafood platter has better butter rice, and the grilled fish is not bad too!
Oh, when we were waiting to get to the multi-storey carpark at PS, some idiot knocked into the back of my dad's car!! There was a pretty loud knock we heard and felt too. What a moron. There was a girl in his car, so obviously he must have been talking to her, not watching the traffic. There's a bit of a dent in my dad's car, while according to my brother, his bumper came unhinged on one side. Beemers ftw :D

The Spaniards sent the Russkies home 3:0
alternate title: late nite brogging.
it is worth staying up till 5am to watch Russia get trashed in the Euros... hahaha, I love the language and culture, but I personally thought the title belongs to a more established national team (they can win the next time :P) Was hoping Sweden would wipe them out. Nope. The Dutch were sent packing instead... What a huge disappointment... Spain is my hero!
K I can sleep well tonight.

Went to Lawry's Prime Ribs at Paragon yesterday arvo with ze famlee. Pretty nice, Victorianishy decor with high ceilings and paintings of royals.... and waitresses who look like Dutch milkmaids. Kinda.
Had an 'English cut' for the ribs, and... It was all right, I'm not a huge fan of being too carnivorous, so I actually enjoyed the Yorkshire pudding more than the beef. The prices are around 68 for the cut I had, which was a sort of medium size.. 250g I think. Dessert was 10.80 and a lovely cheesecake, and I forgot how much the soup was (it was awesome, though; onion and beef soup!) Lunch for 4 came up to pretty expensive, but if you have a DBS card, there's a 1 for 1 main course promo. Verdict: will not go back again. This is the kind of thing you can go to once and forget about it. I rather eat char kway teow... See, I'm not so atas okay?!
Headed down to my dad's office to let him finish his work while I mess with the brand new computers in there and play with Monty (Heidi and Ellie's blood sister, ok!); downloaded a bunch of oldies for my aunt who works there and taught her how to play Freecell.

Room packing commences:

Kung Fu Panda was cute, and Zohan was hilariously crappy. Alvin and I had momentary brain damage from watching two movies back to back at the cinema, worsened by the lulz that was Zohan.
We went to Starbucks. Talked shit. Took some pictures and polaroids.
Out with Lix on Saturday afternoon, and we went to chill at TCC and I had yummy tiramisu and this strawberry and soymilk blended thing.
And then we went to this Apple promotion thing for iPhoto... Free 'studio' shots :P

Apple is printing this photo for free and sending it to us! :) I hope I have it in time to bring a copy to Melbourne.
Met up with Jory afterwards for dinner at this HK style cafe next to Shokudo... OMG Don't eat the XO sauce noodles unless you want your tongue to drop off due to spiciness.
I had lunch today with Uncle Ivan's family.. My cousin is crazy successful. I want to be like him. Well, not totally, but it's pretty inspiring. He's an Oxford graduate, worked for the government and then actually broke his scholarship bond and found employment with a pretty big company and he's always been doing the best out of the 'generation' in the family. He's also really down-to earth and an altogether nice guy, no airs about him. Talk about role model.
It's about getting out of your comfort zone and to be fearless, to get into big things: Dream, Dare, Do. No one gets out of this whole life-shebang alive, so I'm not going down without a fight, at least make things interesting. Why settle? Never settle. The unknown scares you, but here's your only shot, get the fuck out and DO SOMETHING.
And maybe while we're at it we can buy a nice bag and shoes here or there, globetrot a little, ha ha ha.

national hobby: shopping
Today, I went out to brave the crowds of Orchard Rd with my family on account of Fathers' Day. My father's favorite brand seems to be Timberland, and I guess Jet Li likes it too, because we saw him there trying on the shoes. It was a male-dominated shopping day, but I managed to weasel my father into buying a pair of Audio-technica headphones pour moi (hehehehehehe).
Meet Maximus II (aka Max II), successor of my old Sennheisers which died on one side, hello to renewed aurgasms! Photo booth's flash washes me out like kerazy.
Meet Maximus II (aka Max II), successor of my old Sennheisers which died on one side, hello to renewed aurgasms! Photo booth's flash washes me out like kerazy.I am going to write about things I like in a sort of blog series, ahahaha. In no particular order.
1)
Lamborghini Murcielagos; been seeing lots of Gallardos on the streets, and lots of them in Berlin... Ah Berlin.
2) I love Berlin. Everyone is totally sick of hearing that from me.

Me: Mum. I'm going to move to Berlin one day.
Mother: Why? My friend so-and-so's daughter married a German and moved to Germany and when she comes back she only asks for money from her mother. German men are bad. Don't marry Germans. Don't marry Russians too.
Me: I'm still moving to Berlin anyway. And I'll just have Heidi to keep me company. When Heidi dies, I'll get another dog and I will name her Heidi too.
Mother: Move to Vienna. It's cleaner.
My mother doesn't really listen to what I say.
3) I like Asian food. We Asians have the best food (I'm leaving the Chinese people eat cat/dog/civet thing out of this. Our food is a very strong reason why I am proud of my culture. I love dim sum! I love the local food. I love Bak Kut Teh. I have to have some soon. I love Japanese cuisine.
The food was pretty all right in Europe except that most things are SO SALTY, its like salt is free or something.. Roadside stall bratwursts were the only food that were not salty. Even in SG, I usually opt for Japanese/Chinese fare... Baked rice and fish and chips just cannot beat a mean char kway teow, y'know? Asian food > all other food :P
Okay. I am sick of blogging for today.

oh noesss!!!!
I have to bring Heidi to the vet's office on Tuesday D: Poor Heidimao. She has a pretty big blood blister that appeared from nowherez.
operngasse 20b, wien, österreich
I wish that: I could remember your face. You are looking out the lowered back window of a little red car with a hatchback while you mouth something to me that I cannot discern through the peak-hour Viennese traffic. Horns are sounded in the distance, a BMW 1-series weaves through the vehicles with the vehement need to come out first. I don't smile, I don't wave, I just stare back at your bright eyes as you continue to speak to me, maybe in Japanese. The lights danced their universal red-amber-green. You must be the kind of boy who wears Comme des Garçons scents or nothing. The windows roll up and the car you sit in drives away.

"A relationship is just another kind of job, isn't it. In the beginning you pretend to be that perfect employee. You lie in the interview and then you do your best for a while. You never step out of line. You always wait until you go home to use the bathroom if it's number two. You shave and brush your teeth every day. When you're kissing you never pull out the pen and write "whore" on her body unexpectedly. You behave. But how long can that go on before you start going crazy? You have to be yourself. That's why it's called being yourself.
And soon you start slipping up. You think, "Oh, I'll just use the bathroom a little bit. Just a bit of a number two, to hold me over until I get home." You start chewing gum just before you see her, because you forgot to brush today. You find yourself writing, "who" on her confused face, and you scramble for a weak explanation. "Oh, I just didn't want to forget to look something up, later. Who, uh... Who played the girl in The Apartment? Was it Shirley MacLaine?"
In the end it never works out. You are who you are, no matter what you pretend at the beginning. So I'm not pretending. I drink to ignore my problems. I spend more time with my computer than with my friends. I don't have a very good relationship with women. I am angry and lonely, but I can wash dishes just fine. I'm being honest. Please don't be an asshole about this."

Whoever thinks money cannot buy happiness does not know where to shop.

Chanel bag from Vienna! (Damage: 2021 euros) Bwahaha. Awful pic but I can't be arsed to take another one :P
Had a great time out with Val yesterday :D Lunch at Shokudo... Not too bad, we had pork katsu with curry, and tempura udon, but the tempura tastes like it's fried in overused cooking oil :( So skip out on the tempura if you ever go there. Bought some Nivea cream for whitening!! LOL. Can you imagine that I'm using anything whitening, as if I am not already fair enough!? Has to be done, though, I rather be vampiric than freckly. Anyone who thinks I'm too pale can go screw themselves. Also bought this weird Japanese cleanser thing...
Japanese people are so weird. They have weird porn, weird tv shows, weird products, weird behavior...weird knife-wielding hacking person on the streets. If there is one thing I know, it is never to get involved with Japanese boys :P And angmohs. Angmohs cannot be trusted. Actually, all boys cannot be trusted, but those two are the highest on the list.
We also had teh-c at the Killiney stall thing in MS.. Not bad, but found the tea could be less bland.
OH YES, I bought the Chanel Mat Lumiere foundation after MUCH deliberation, damage: $62! Also bought the Applecare Protection Plan for my MBP on ebay and activated it- damage: $330 (I am probably going to be charged GST for this. UGHHH >=[ Damn you, taxes!) Found a shop that sells some Lavera lipbalm, but so expensive! Should have bought more in Berlin.... GAAAAH. Same with the Giotto chocolate... approx. 5.5sgd for a pack of 4 rolls, 13.50 for the same thing here. Cheaper designer goods, cheaper chocolate, cheaper stuff in general if you know where to look, cute german boys, what's there not to love about Berlin? I'm going to set up my life to move there in the future :P
Dinner at the ... Gah I can't remember what it is called, but it is at Raffles City, along Thai Express and all that.. Asian... Something... The duck was kinda hard to eat, and the suan la soup has chinese parsley which is uber gross. Hor Fun's not too bad. Damage was around $16 per person and we couldn't finish the food hahaha. I don't think it's a place I will go back to again, though.
Drinks at Loof! :) I love the ambience there, but the seats are kinda iffy. Gin and lime as usual! Sorry I have no pictures! I usually forget to take pictures even if I brought along a camera, though... It's just not a habit for me.
In other news, I'm really glad I have so many friends to bitch to, teehee... Thanks guys, you all have saved my sanity and restored it (to usual insane-ness ;P)

never back down
"i'm telling you right off the bat, i'm high-maintenance, so... i'm not gonna tip-toe around your marriage, or whatever it is you've got goin' there. if you wanna be with me, you're with me. too many guys think i'm a concept, or i complete them, or i'm gonna make them alive. but i'm just a fucked up girl who's lookin' for my own peace of mind; don't assign me yours."
It was a good time to be re-watching Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind yesterday, it damn near killed me, but I needed the killing. Such a heartbreaking, yet numbing film, Clementine Kruczynski is a character I can identify so well with. I needed that, and suffice to say, it prepared me for something I had to confront directly. I am now all kinds of emotions. A bit high, too. I might re-read this post and think I'm fucking nuts.
Y'know, screw it. I'm not going to say straight off the bat that the cynics are better than the dreamers, for I play both sides of the fence. This time, the former won out (again, dammit!!!) But it did help cushion the fall. Thanks, man. The cynical side of me just loves to say "oh, it will happen ;) wait for it. just, wait, for, it... anytime now.." I'm not a very good believer, huh? I think I'll never be, I am just built this way. Kinda pragmatic but also insane.
It's not a good place to be, being both a freaking love-story fan and a hardcore believer of eternal DOOOOOM!!11, but I think I've toughened up pretty well from two years ago. Of course it hurts, I may be a bitch but I am human... I am however, not going to roll over and die. NO WAY, JOSE. I will make allowances for when I suddenly feel upset, but I will take this as the best time to reclaim my fucking life; I'm not just a cynic and a dreamer, I'm a fighter, man...! I'm awesome, you guys, you just don't know. (Christian Siriano taught me how to be fierce and fabulous.)
Oh my god, I have to get up early tomorrow, and I have to do my hair. SO BYE. Special thanks to: CHA (*hugs so hard* thank you so very much :) ), Alvin and Libby hahaha.
ANYWAYZ. Here's a good getyourbackup song :P :
When I thought I knew you
Thinking that you were true
I guess I couldn't trust
'Cause your bluff time is up
'Cause I've had enough
You were there by my side
Always, down for the ride
But your joy ride just came down in flames
'Cause your greed sold me out of shame, mmhmm
After all of the stealing and cheating
You probably think that I hold resentment for you
But, uh uh, oh no, you're wrong
'Cause if it wasn't for all that you tried to do
I wouldn't know just how capable I am to pull through
So I wanna say thank you
'Cause it makes me that much stronger
Makes me work a little bit harder
It makes me that much wiser
So thanks for making me a fighter
Made me learn a little bit faster
Made my skin a little bit thicker
Makes me that much smarter
So thanks for making me a fighter
Never, saw it coming
All of, your backstabbing
Just so, you could cash in
On a good thing before I realized your game
I heard, you're going around
Playing, the victim now
But don't, even begin
Feeling I'm the one to blame
'Cause you dug your own grave, uh huh
After all of the fights and the lies
Yes you wanted to harm me but that won't work anymore
Uh, no more, oh no, it's over
'Cause if it wasn't for all of your torture
I wouldn't know how to be this way now, and never back down
So I wanna say thank you
'Cause it makes me that much stronger
Makes me work a little bit harder
Makes me that much wiser
So thanks for making me a fighter
Made me learn a little bit faster
Made my skin a little bit thicker
It makes me that much smarter
So thanks for making me a fighter

i didn't say goodbye, i didn't say anything, i just walked away
A few years ago, I had a dream. It began in the summer and was over by the following spring. In between, there were as many unhappy nights as there were happy days. Most of them took place in this café.
And then one night, a door slammed and the dream was over.
And then one night, a door slammed and the dream was over.

guten tag!
I am back from my Europe trip... And damn, am I tired, 6.5 hour flight + 6 hour transit + another 8.5 hour flight = no SHITE, kids!

We first arrive in Berlin, which is the new love of my life. I felt right at home even though I don't speak a word of German.
Val and I outside the Kaiser-Wilhelm Memorial Church
the church from a distance
Berlin is a culturally and historically rich city that has a pleasant mix of both old and new architecture, and it is where multi-racial inhabitants can be easily spotted walking along the roads. We had the first day free to roam the streets of where the old East Berlin would have been if the never fell, soaking up the flavorful essence of this cosmopolitan land in beautiful weather. I've never felt so 'right' in any place I've visited; it was as if I could be living there at that very moment. It is a little dusty, but maybe the utterly gorgeous German boys more than make up for it, as all as the low prices for buying designer goods... Ahem.. I need to go back there again.
I'll write about the other places another time!
